Rare earth elements (REEs) are a group of seventeen chemical elements which possess unique properties such as magnetism, luminescence, and electrochemical characteristics, making them crucial for various industries. REEs are extensively used in technology, green energy, defense, and healthcare sectors. They are essential components in devices like smartphones, computers, wind turbines, and medical imaging equipment. GTSB leverages advanced techniques and equipment for exploring various minerals, including rare earth elements, tin, gold, and nickel. They also closely monitor regulatory changes to stay compliant.
GTSB and Agensi Nuklear Malaysia (ANM) formed a collaboration in January 2020 through a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA). This partnership focuses on pilot research and development activities related to rare earth element (REE) mining. It covers various aspects of mining, such as exploration, geotechnical and hydrogeological surveys, and advanced mining and extraction processes. ANM's contribution to this partnership enables GTSB to access research and advanced mining techniques, enhancing their environmental and operational capabilities in the REE mining industry.
GTSB aim to raise funds of $200 million through their $REE token for expanding their eco-friendly mining projects. Malaysia is a significant player in the global rare earth elements market, and GTSB is strategically positioned to tap into it.
